1st Bosnian Air Squadron, the founding squadron of the Bosnian Air Forces Brigade, is a proud member of the Joint Air Task Force (JATF). Our primary aircraft is the F-16CM Viper, specialising in Suppression and Destruction of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD/DEAD) together with precision strike and special operations.
Every mission is planned using realistic procedures inspired by NATO doctrine, ensuring that teamwork, communication and discipline remain at the centre of every flight.
Long before the Brigade officially existed, a small group of Bosnian pilots had already been flying together since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
After years of cooperation, they decided to establish a democratic organisation with a clear statute, structured leadership, realistic operating procedures and a long-term vision.
Since then the community has expanded from a single squadron into a multinational brigade composed of operational squadrons, instructor teams and dedicated flight school units.
Today our Brigade consists of over twenty-five pilots, eight officers and members representing numerous countries across Europe.
Beyond flying, we actively contribute to the DCS ecosystem. The Brigade is an official partner of DelanClip , assisting in hardware testing and development, while also contributing research to the DCS Balkans terrain project.
Our long-term objective is ambitious but simple:
Become one of the leading European DCS squadrons while uniting the Balkan aviation community under one professional team.
Our officers and pilots represent multiple countries, proving that aviation brings people together regardless of borders, just like true Bosnian spirit.
